The halls and rooms of the former Royal College, a place that identifies the good Lucca, characterized by precious objects and furnishings that make it sophisticated and elegant fabric meets the farmer in order to bring a knowledge of and disseminate their own customs and traditions through different activities that involve the visitor, where gastronomy, arts, crafts and music will be the main players for a wonderful meeting of the senses.
The presence of Slow Food, certify the quality of the proposals that our region has to offer and the afternoons of Saturday Taste Workshops and the Islands of the table allow you to participate in guided tastings of famous wines from Tuscany, cigar and other specialties.
Around the scents, flavors of the finest extra virgin olive oil PDO, PGI and BIO coming from our farms, to the shades of colors, flavors meats and the famous traditional bread, made with corn flour, chestnuts, pearl barley and more , still the standard in local cuisine will be present over a hundred artisans with exhibits of pottery, paper, dried flowers and scented objects carved in olive wood
All will be enriched by the collaboration of institutions, associations and music clubs in the Lucca and local festivals, which will organize concerts of classical music, jazz and pop.
Exhibition itinerary
On the ground floor exhibition of typical products of the table Lucchesan
- oil produced in the coastal hills of Lucca and the Versilia;
- Wine D.O.C. the Colline Lucchesi and Montecarlo;
- organic honey Beach Park Migliarino and S. Redness, high Versilia, Garfagnana and Serchio Valley;
- farro Garfagnana IGP;
- pecorino cheese and of Versilia and Garfagnana Serchio Valley, the biroldo and bondiola Garfagnana, ham Bazzone, the lard of Camaiore;
- the bean in its many varieties and Formenton eight rows of corn polenta;
- Buccellato, the cake of grass and with the beaks of Lucca, Altopascio bread, potato bread, cake and flour spelled neccio DOP Garfagnana.
Upstairs, the exhibition is devoted to art, crafts and antiques Lucchese dellatavola applied in the field and home furnishings: paintings, small objects in marble, ceramics, fabrics and upholstery, furnishing accessories, flowers, perfumes and ornaments on display from small and large businesses in their area.
The grace and hospitality of Lucca is represented, instead, by numerous recreational facilities in the province: restaurants serving traditional, comfortable hotels, charming little B & B, farm holiday immersed in the green of our hills, relaxing spa and wellness center for a unforgettable stay.
Finally, for a better understanding of Lucca, expose the bodies of the territory, to visit museums, parks to explore, mountain communities to meet, cultural associations and food and wine to be rediscovered.
Meetings, concerts and tastings
The exhibits are associated with cultural events, small concerts dedicated to the musical tradition Lucchese edegustazioni guides dedicated to local produce organized in collaboration with Slow Food Compitese Lucca Garfagnana and Versilia, Italian Association Someliers Delegation Club and Friends of Lucca in Tuscany.
Exhibitors can take advantage also of a meeting room and a tasting area used for the presentation of their products and / or activities.
Staging
Experience of Thin Cities - Places and Projects Cardboard - the laboratory for the design and testing of innovative uses of the cardboard and similar materials - the exhibition suggests, for this fourth edition, a development characterized by elements of furniture and paper cardboard.
The idea is to propose an environmentally sustainable development to become part of the exhibition promoting the district paper Lucca, the most important in Italy.
The initiative is being held at the newly renovated halls and cloisters of the former Royal College in the historic center of Lucca.
The exhibition is open to the public on days 15-16, 22-23, 29-30 November 6-7-8, 13-14 December, with continuous hours 11:30-19:30.
Admission is free.
